MSI 64bit DIA applications do not play back on Windows 7 64bit VDI enviroment

Problem:

The DIA (Deparmental Installed Application) is captured fine and plays back as well  in the FPC (FlexApp Packaging Console) the package but it does not appear to play back in my VDI 64bit pool

Symptoms:

No DIA application. The FPC (FlexApp Packaging Console) must be a 64bit version OS

Possible Resolution:

Use following information within FlexApp Packaging Console to capture the package:

  • Package Name: <Name of the application>
  • Installer Location:   C:\windows\system32\msiexec.exe
  • Options:   /I C:\directory\<filename>.msi
  • Package Creation Mode: Basic
  • VHD Location: \\Fileserver\VHDPackages_FileShare\

Note: It is recommended that the msi install package is located on local disk

Note: The applications captured on 32 bit version of OS will only play back on 32 bit version of VID. Same would apply to 64 bit version of OS.

The latest version of ProU FlexApp does recognize MSI's.  Should this be updated or removed?
