The database server ‘localhost’ is not responding to connection requests

Problem: After upgrade of VA containing ProfileUnity to version 5.0, you see: 

'The database server ‘localhost’ is not responding to connection requests’


The problem is that when a hub is installed a random database password is generated and put into db.php for ProfileUnity. However, when the database is copied from the old hub via upgrade, the password from the old hub is also copied but the db.php on the new hub has a new random password that doesn't work.

Possible Resolution(s):

To correct we need to do the following:

# cat /var/www/html/profileunity/include/db.php  | grep SITE_SQL_PASSWORD 

To see the expected password on the hub, you'll use this for password in following command.

And you can fix it in the database by doing:

echo "alter user profileunity unencrypted password '<password>'" | su - postgres -c 'psql portal'
