Problem:

I don't see my FlexApp vhd mounting so I can't flexapp my applications. My App Data and Local App Data is not saving because no Virtual Disk present.

Symptoms:

The FlexApp disk is configured with correct path the directory "FlexApp-VHD" is created and "Profile-VHD" is created as well but no *.vhd's created in path.

Please turn on "Debug" logging in "Main" section of Profile Unity Configuration. Update the INI.

Log off and log back in and look in two locations:

Location A) Select Run than type %temp%

Windows 7 path: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp

Open "FlexAppLog" directory and look for files ending in vhd.log

Location B) Other directory to look for logs if your "FlexApp Drive" default location: B:\Logs

*vhd.log should contain ,vhd mount errors.

Example:

"Failed to create the virtual disk path: \\servername\home\username\Profile-VHD... Error: The requested operation could not be completed due to a virtual disk system limitation. Virtual disks are only supported on NTFS volumes and must be both uncompressed and encrypted."

Possible Resolution(s):

A) Change the path of your FlexApp VHD and your Virtual Disk location to uncompressed volume.

B) Turn off compression/encryption on your current volume where you want to save the VHD's.

Note: Mounting VHD is not compatible with Windows 2003 Terminal server and Windows XP. There is no VHD logging in those environments.
