How to import an SSL certificate for your ProfileUnity console

Product: ProfileUnity

Product Version: 5.5+

Updated: July 13, 2017

Web browser complains the identity of the ProfileUnity console is not verified or certificate name does not match hostname.

Possible Resolution(s):

Step 1) Create an SSL certificate/key pair in a PFX file to your specifications like you normally would for any web-based application hosted in your environment

Step 2) Open ProfileUnity Console, login and go to "Administration" Section

Step 3) Select "Import New Certificate" button under the top section and browse to your PFX key-pair

Step 4) Wait for ProfileUnity services to restart.

If you are unable to get your public certificate and private key in a PFX file format from your administrator, you can use the following steps to convert it yourself.

Step 1) Download the attached file and extract it to your desktop

Step 2) Copy your public cert and private key files into the "PFX\Files" folder

Step 3) Rename your public certificate to ProfileUnity.crt and your private key to ProfileUnity.key

Step 4) Run the combinepfx.cmd script in the PFX folder and pick up your PFX key-pair which will be created as PFX\Files\ProfileUnity.pfx

Note: If certificate expires and the page can't be access, its possible to access page by running chrome with this command: chrome –ignore-certificate-errors (From "Run" window)
