Possible Resolution(s):

ProfileUnity can set these settings remotely for all the users, to launch any files from any shares on certain TCP/IP location without the warning, and trust this UNC path. These settings are not part of standard install so they need to be added manually.

Here is how to add two registry rules manualy:

In ProfileUnity console, Edit configuration and select "Registry" and "Add Registry Rule"

1st Registry Rule:

  • Action: Add Value
  • Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  • Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Ranges\Range1
  • Type: REG_DWORD
  • Value: *
  • Data: 1
  • Description: Trust TCP/IP UNC Path

Example:

2nd Registry Rule:

  • Action: Add Value
  • Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  • Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Ranges\Range1
  • Type: REG_SZ
  • Value: :Range
  • Data: 10.10.10.10
  • Description: Trust TCP/IP UNC Path
Note: Please replace 10.10.10.10 with IP of your server which is to be your trusted location.

Save and "Update" your config and download to ...netlogon\ProfileUnity folder

Note: The old version of ProfileUnity does not have "Add Value" as an option. It has "Write Value" but the functionality is the same.
