After upgrade to ProfileUnity 5.6.27x Domain LDAP linked user can't log-in to ProfileUnity console
This was reported when upgrading from 5.5.x to 5.6.2x
Two most common error messages are:
"User was denied access"
"A referral was returned from the server"
The 3d error which might occur after upgrade is: "An item with the same key has already been added"
This defect has been resolved in 5.7 to be possibly available mid November 2013.
Current possible workarounds are:
Option A) Login with local "Admin" account and delete user (which is failing to login) from 'Users" section and try again
Option B) Login with OTHER domain Administrator (account which was not used previously to login to the PU console)
Option C) Create a new Domain Admin user Example: "PUAdmin" he should be member of ONLY "Domain Admins" security group.
Option D) Refer to this KB: ProfileUnity Console Login screen displays the error “An item with the same key has already been added"
This KB will show you how to backup your configuration and restore to a newly created database. (Caution advised)
Option E) Upgrade ProfileUnity to 5.7 when it becomes available.
