Problem:

I would like to exclude programs from ProfileUnity from being captured by UIA or users heaving ability to install them.  I was wondering if I could user a wildcard exclusion since we have a lot of applications. Can wildcards be used in lwl_userapp.xml?

Symptoms:

Users are using FlexApp UIA. The Administrator need ability to stop certain applications from installing.

Possible Resolution:

Unfortunately ProfileUnity client can't read wildcards in this file (lwl_userapp.xml). The names of the excluded installers must be named. But this is not only one way of doing this. Another way is to use "Elevation" section of ProfileUnity. If you have noticed that you might "Deny" installation from all "Adobe" products by configuring this setting:

Example:

New Privilege Elevation Setting:
Filter - Any filter
Action: Deny
Match: Contains
Value: Adobe

This option will not elevate any Adobe installers thus stopping elevation for non admin users. Thus stopping flexapp. This should give you some options.
