Problem:

None of the portability settings are not saved and restored - empty rulesets issue

Symptoms:

ProfileUnity splash screen appears during logon / logoff  suggesting Profile Unity executed,; however no settings get restored / saved.

The portability log shows the following error.

Resolution:

In order to fix this problem, it is necessary to make sure that the ruleset fields in Portability settings are not empty.

  1. Please note, in the example below the ruleset is set to "NONE".
  2. Once the NONE ruleset setting is changed to a proper ruleset( in this case the MAPI settings ruleset), the portability settings should start workining.
  3. Once changed hit "save" and "update".
  4. Make sure to update your configuration INI file onto the netlogon server.
