Problem:

One of my users has changed their Windows Explorer Folder Options to 'single-click to open an item'. The setting is not saving when the user logs off.

Resolution:

1. Check your configuration to see which Windows Explorer Portability rule you are using (in most cases it is the 'Windows Explorer - 5.6' rule).

2. Add this rule to the Windows Explorer ruleset you are using:

Merge Value HKCU 'Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellState'

Note: Make sure to choose 'Merge Value' and not 'Merge Tree'.

3. Save the ruleset and update your configuration. Refresh the desktop pool/catalog. The setting should save after that.
