A few times now (mainly Citrix PVS) We have seen with XenDesktop environments that “StandBy” is taking way to much memory. In theory standby is supposed to free up when needed and standby is disk pages but windows can take time to clear this out and for logoff it’s not going to be fast enough.

Resolution:

 

Create 2 User Defined scripts (one at logon and one at logoff) using the setting defined in the attached screen shot. Download the attached file in this KB "EmptyStandbyList_exe" and rename to "EmptyStandbyList.exe" and place the file in your ProfileUnity folder in Netlogon

Please use this exe attached as a pre ProU logoff script, that will free up memory right before ProU needs it. You could even use this when free memory is low and clearing standby could help to have more “free” memory.

Save and update your ini in netlogon.
