ProfileUnity 6.x - How To Reinstall or uninstall the Web Console/UI

After installing ProfileUnity 6.5, a User is unable to re-install ProfileUnity 6.5 by re-running the installer. There could be other reasons that the console needs to be re-installed. 


  1. If this is a VM snapshot the VM. 
  2. Backup configurations:
    • database from ProfileUnity Console(Administration>Database>Backup Current Database)
    • Export ALL ProfileUnity Configurations. (Creates .json files)
  3. Save .jason and .zip on network
  4. Stop Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity Service
  5. Stop Liquidware Labs FlexDisk Service
  6. Stop Mongo DB Service
  7. Stop RabbitMQ Service
  8. Uninstall ProfileUnity
  9. Uninstall MongoDB
  10. Uninstall RabbitMQ Server
  11. Go to Task Manager and kill "epmd.exe"
  12. Uninstall Erlang OTP 17
  13. Open an administrative command prompt a type: sc delete MongoDB to remove the MongoDB service.
  14. Delete the C:\Program Files\MongoDB 
  15. Delete the C:\Program Files\erl6.3
  16. Delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\Liquidware Labs\ProfileUnity
  17. Delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\RabbitMQ Server
  18. Delete the ".erlang.cookie" from:
    • C:\Windows 
    • C:\users\<username> (Profile of user that completed original or last installs.)
  19. Delete %APPDATA%\RabbitMQ
  20. Delete %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\RabbitMQ
    • (Check for any other RabbitMQ folders in this location)
  21. Restart the Server
  22. Run the ProfileUnity Installer and complete install. (
  23. Restore ProfileUnity data.
    • Configuration Management - Import - Select .jason file to import the configuration
    • OR
    • Restore the backed up database (Administration>Database>Restore> 

Note:  VMDK FlexDisk Apps, ProfileDisk and User Data Disks will not be restored until the VM is re-imported into the console, after the re-install has completed.
