ProfileUnity 6.5 - MongoDB service error when logging into console

After installation of ProfileUnity, when logging into the web console, the error 'Exception of type 'ProfileUnity.Mongo.Db.Exceptions.DatabaseNotStartedException' was thrown' appears.

Exception of type 'ProfileUnity.Mongo.Db.Exceptions.DatabaseNotStartedException' was thrown.

The MongoDB service does not show in Windows Services.

MongoDB logs (C:\Program Files\MongoDB\log\mongo.log) indicate the service was stopped.


Possible resolution: 

No reinstallation of MongoDB is necessary. Run the following command from an administrator command prompt:

"C:\Program Files\MongoDB\bin\mongod.exe" --config "C:\Program Files\MongoDB\mongod.cfg" --install

Open Windows Services or refresh the window and start the MongoDB service.

Close and reopen the ProfileUnity login window. You should then be able to log in with no errors.
