How to manually deploy the Stratusphere Database

 Problem: How to deploy database appliance manually

 

 ****It is highly recommended for performance to keep theStratusphere HUB and Stratusphere DB appliance on the same host.****

Possible Resolution(s):

OVF Method: Requires ESX 4.0 or later

  1. Download file from http://www.liquidwarelabs.com/Download/
  2. Obtainthis link for Database OVF file
  3. http://software.liquidwarelabs.com/4.8.1/database.ovf
  4. In Vmware client choose “DeployOVF Template”
  5. Use defaults for deployment, thoughusing your your cluster and hosts of choice
  6. Post Deployment:
  • Recommend 2 vCPU’s and 4-8 GB RAM

Manual Deployment

1.   Downloadthe following files via links provided:

   a.   http://software.liquidwarelabs.com/4.8.1/database-2.vmdk

   b.   http://software.liquidwarelabs.com/4.8.1/database-1.vmdk

   c.   http://software.liquidwarelabs.com/4.8.1/database-0.vmdk

2.   Create a Shell vm in VI client tocreate folder structure for vmdk files.  Optimally,choose the Cluster/ESX host and Datastore where the Stratusphere hub already resides.

   a.   Recommend 2 vCPU’s and 4-8 GB RAM

3.   Once created, browse datastore and deleteshell vmdk files

4.   Upload the database vmdk files tothe shell vm’s datastore, via WINSCP or VI client browse datastore function

5.   Add vmdk files to vm starting withdatabase-0.vmdk, database-1.vmdk, database-2.vmdk

6.   Power on Vm.
