Problem:  Stratusphere appliances have been deployed and configured but the passwords were not changed at that time and they need to be changed post-configuration.

The attached script package will facilitate the changing of all remotely accessible accounts on all appliances registered to a given Stratusphere HUB.  You only need to know the IP/hostname of the HUB, all other appliance addresses are gathered from the database.

1. Upload attached pw.tgz file to your Stratusphere HUB appliance using WinSCP as friend/sspassword to the first directory shown in WinSCP (/home/friend)

2. SSH to the HUB using Putty as friend/sspassword

Execute the following commands:

3. tar -zxvf pw.tgz

4. cd pw

5. su

6. ./

Follow the prompts to complete the changing of passwords.  This script requires all passwords be the default sspassword and that all appliances, DB and Network Stations, are already joined to or registered with the HUB in question.

Upon completion, review the Putty session for any errors and manually change the password for the server and account in question.

A successful password change will have the message: "passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully."

A failed password change may show the error: "passwd: Authentication token manipulation error"
