Product: ProfileUnity-FlexApp

Product Version:  6.5.5+

Updated: September 23, 2016

Problem

After recently updating Windows, certain DIA packages containing Printers/Print Drivers appear to no longer playback correctly.

Symptoms

A captured printer/print driver (i.e. CutePDF) is no longer restored to Devices and Printers or was restored, but can not be printed to without experiencing a windows driver installation error.

An example and additional information can be garnered here:

Resolution

A recent Windows Update requires printer drivers to now be ‘package-aware’ for security purposes.  To resolve the issue with DIA playback, please do one of the following:

  1. If available, obtain an updated driver from the printer/software vendor that is package-aware and repackage your DIA package using this updated version.

OR

  1. Uninstall the corresponding Windows Security Update that adds this Printer Driver requirement.
