Desktop text and task bar icons are getting smaller on persitent machines after changeing the size of text.

Problem:

ProfileUnity is in use and the desktop is persistent.

Description:

User sets the "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" to 150, on the next login to the same computer the font size reverts back to small after couple seconds but everything else stays large. Also Taskbar icons shrink. 

Resolution:

Step 1) Disable ProfileUnity Refresh

Create a Registry rule in ProfileUnity configuration:

  • Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  • Key: Software\Liquidware Labs\ProfileUnity
  • Type: REG_SZ
  • Value: DisableFeature
  • Data: 1

Step 2) Delete Refresh.exe from the %temp% directory

Create 2 Application Launcher rules to delete Refresh.exe

  • Filespec: c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
  • Arguments: /c del.exe %temp%\Refresh.exe
  • Timing: During Configuration Execution
  • Hide Process: False
  • Run Async: True
  • Frequency: Every Logon

 

  • Filespec: c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
  • Arguments: /c del.exe %temp%\Refresh.exe
  • Timing: After Configuration Execution
  • Hide Process: False
  • Run Async: True
  • Frequency: Every Logon
