Problem:

Setting up Outlook Search Index for 2008 R2 & 2016 RDS

Possible Resolution(s):

There are 2 configurations templates needed to accomplish this task.

1. A standard "Windows 7, 10 or 2016 as a Desktop and 2016 RDS Full Desktop ProfileDisk" -
This configuration needs to run at login for the user,

2. A second configuration template which prior to 6.8.1 was called "Outlook Search Index for RDS" and now it is called "Outlook Search Index for 2008 R2 & 2016 RDS"
This configuration needs to run at startup. To run a configuration at startup you needs to follow the following KB
Please note, the above KB creates a file called "LwL.ProfileUnity.Client.Service.exe.creds". You will need to temporarily move this file out of your client tools folder (usually located in the netlogon directory). Once your client tools have been installed onto your image you can put that file "LwL.ProfileUnity.Client.Service.exe.creds" back into the client tools folder.

Note: Make sure that lwl.profileunity.client.startup.exe is part of the PU GPO - Windows Startup script. This file will read the lwl.ProfileUnity.Client.Service.exe.creds file and get the image ready and install the client tools as a service.

3. Start and Stop and than Disable Windows Search service in the base image.
