Problem:
After upgrading to Profile Unity 6.8.4 R2 while running Portability only without ProfileDisk enabled, the Start Menu in your VDI session(s) are unresponsive as well as other apps like Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams prompting for reconfigure at every login.
Resolution:
Option 1 - Attempt this before trying option 2.
Edit your configuration, Portability module, remove the filter from the Modern ADAL Accounts rule and change its position to #1. Click Update and deploy your INI file.
Option 2 - Use only if option 1 didn't help.
1. Download the Portability-Modern Apps v1.json file at the bottom of this KB.
2. Inside the Profile Unity Web Console UI, go to the Portability Management UI on the left side of your screen and import the Portability-Modern Apps v1.json file
3. Next, edit your ProfileUnity configuration, go into the Portability Settings Module, find the ruleset called Modern ADAL Accounts - 6.8.3, scroll to the right and disable it.
4. Now click on the red button Add Portability Setting Rule, choose filter named Windows 10 & 11 then for the ruleset click on the drop down and choose Modern Apps V1.
5. Click on the advanced tab at the bottom of the dialog and put in your save path to where all your other portability files get saved for each user.
6. Back in the main portability settings window find the new rule Modern Apps v1 just created and click on the drop box for the order for this rule and change it to be a value of 1 in the execution order.
7. Lastly click on the blue update button and then deploy that INI\ config to your netlogon location.
